Boeing has announced a new deal with EVA Air, a leading Taiwanese airline, to purchase four additional 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a total value of up to USD 2 billion. This move signifies both the airline's ongoing fleet expansion and the robust global demand for Boeing’s widebody jets. EVA Air currently operates 21 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, and this order will see further additions through 2033, supporting their long-haul growth strategy.

Alongside this, EVA Air plans to extend leases on four Boeing 777-300ERs, investing over USD 150 million to upgrade passenger cabins, enhancing comfort across their fleet. These developments are part of the airline’s broader plan to modernize its international routes and incorporate new aircraft types such as the Airbus A350-1000.

Manufacturing and Market Expansion

Boeing is responding to the high demand for the 787 by expanding its South Carolina assembly site, a project involving a new final assembly building and a USD 1 billion investment. With this expansion, Boeing aims to increase monthly production rates to 14 aircraft, potentially reaching a record 16 units per month, although full stability remains a work in progress amid previous quality challenges.

The ongoing investments aim to clear the manufacturing backlog and meet the industry’s increasing appetite for flexible, efficient widebody jets. Boeing remains optimistic about the future of its 787 program, supported by hundreds of new orders confirmed in 2025, positioning the company for sustained growth and innovation in the aerospace sector.
