Bombardier Business Aircraft announced that the Global 8000 has obtained Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification for the United States. This certification follows the aircraft’s entry into service in December, operated by Chartright Air at Montréal Trudeau Airport, after securing Transport Canada type approval in November. European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification is still pending.
The approval signifies a major step towards full commercial deployment of the Global 8000, positioning Bombardier to enhance its presence in the large business jet market. The aircraft, known for its long-range capabilities and luxurious cabin, is now authorized for operation within the U.S., opening new opportunities for sales and charter services.
According to Bombardier, the FAA certification confirms the aircraft’s compliance with rigorous safety and performance standards required in the United States. This development follows the first Global 8000 entering service under the management of Chartright Air at Montréal Trudeau Airport, with the aircraft's certification facilitating broader market access.
European certification remains pending, but Bombardier is optimistic about future approvals. The company continues to expand its global footprint and modernize its fleet offerings, leveraging the Global 8000’s advanced features and ultimate range to serve clients worldwide.
