Budget airline Breeze Airways, based in Utah, has announced an expansion of its low-cost flight routes across the United States and to the Bahamas. The airline is adding new domestic routes from cities such as Raleigh-Durham, Hartford, Columbus, Atlantic City, and others, aiming to serve underserved destinations with its "Seriously Nice" service.

CEO David Neeleman expressed enthusiasm over the airline’s growth, including the return of flights to San Antonio, Texas, after a four-year hiatus, and the addition of Nassau, Bahamas, marking its fourth international destination. The airline’s fleet, which started in 2021 with Airbus A220-300 and Embraer 190 aircraft, now provides a variety of domestic and international services, including destinations in Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.

New Routes and Fares

Tickets from Browntown to Orlando went on sale for flights beginning May 15, operating twice weekly. Promotional fares starting at $79 one-way are available for the nonstop route, part of a "No Flex Fare" promotion now concluded. These expansions come amid reports showing that despite a decade-long decline, many travelers still perceive airline fares as high, often due to additional fees for baggage, seats, and early boarding.

"The nonstop route from Brownsville to Orlando will begin operating in May, offering low fares and convenient service," said Neeleman.

The airline’s broader strategy emphasizes providing affordable travel options in a competitive environment, with efforts to attract both new and returning guests. Industry experts note that as consolidation among carriers continues, consumers should remain diligent about extra charges associated with airline tickets.

Overall, Breeze’s expansion reflects the ongoing trend of ultra-low-cost carriers offering competitive international and domestic options, with an eye towards summer travel demand and tourism growth in the Caribbean.
