Cebu Pacific, a major Philippine airline, is planning its future expansion contingent upon the development of key airport infrastructure projects within the country. Despite recent growth fueled by post-pandemic capacity increases, the airline faces constraints at its primary hub, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), due to congestion.

The airline has more than 100 aircraft on order, with its future growth strategies including further upgrades of narrow-body aircraft to Airbus A321neos and the continued use of A330 widebodies. However, significant fleet expansion hinges on the construction of a new airport at Bulacan and ongoing expansion efforts at NAIA.

These infrastructure developments are expected to provide the necessary capacity for Cebu Pacific to exercise its options and place new aircraft orders, supporting its long-term growth objectives. Despite recent engine availability issues grounding some of its Airbus narrowbodies, the airline reports a reduction in grounded aircraft and improved operational reliability.

Company CEO Mike Szucs shared insights into the airline's fleet strategy during the Changi Aviation Summit in early February 2026, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure projects in enabling future capacity enhancements and sustained growth prospects for Cebu Pacific.
