China Express Airlines has obtained a new credit facility worth CNY50 million (USD7.5 million) from China Guangfa Bank for its wholly owned subsidiary, Huaxia Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. This boosts its guarantees for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) subsidiary to a total of CNY512.9 million (USD76.4 million). Previously, in September, the airline secured a CNY30 million (USD4.5 million) loan guarantee from China Construction Bank (CCB) for the same subsidiary. Both transactions are within a CNY2.6 billion guarantee framework for the company's subsidiaries.
The company’s efforts highlight its ongoing commitment to supporting its maintenance operations which are vital for its fleet management. The guarantees enable Huaxia Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. to access additional funding to sustain and expand its MRO services, thus ensuring the operational reliability of China Express Airlines' fleet.
Financial and strategic significance
These guarantees reinforce China Express Airlines’ strategy to secure adequate financing for its operational needs. The airline operates a fleet primarily based in Chongqing, with 77 aircraft flying to 137 destinations daily, emphasizing the importance of robust maintenance support.
“Expanding financial guarantees for our maintenance subsidiary demonstrates our commitment to operational excellence and fleet safety,” said a company spokesperson.
The airline's focus on strengthening its maintenance capacity aligns with broader industry trends emphasizing safety and efficiency. As China's regional aviation market continues to grow, companies like China Express are positioning themselves for sustained expansion and service reliability.
