Chinese startup Volant Aerotech has secured over $300 million in Series C funding from the United Arab Emirates private equity firm Stone Venture. The investment is aimed at supporting the completion of certification and commercial deployment of its VE25-100 eVTOL air taxi.
According to the company, the funds will facilitate final testing phases, including crewed flight tests of their electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft. The VE25-100 is designed to serve as an urban air taxi, targeting the growing market for city mobility solutions.
Industry analyst Graham Warwick noted that the significant investment highlights the rising interest and progress of Chinese companies in the global eVTOL market, which is experiencing rapid technological advancements.
Volant’s focus on safety, environmental sustainability, and efficiency positions it as a competitive player in urban air mobility. Pending certification, the company plans to collaborate with commercial operators to introduce its aircraft to urban transportation networks in China and beyond.
As urban air mobility solutions continue to evolve, Chinese firms like Volant are increasingly attracting international investment and technological collaborations, aiming to establish a foothold in this emerging industry.
