Civil Aviation Minister Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu has officially inaugurated the Udan Yatri Café at Mangaluru International Airport and digitally launched the DigiYatra biometric system. The café, located in the departure area, offers snacks and beverages starting at ₹10, reflecting efforts to enhance affordable passenger amenities and promote air travel accessibility.

The DigiYatra system, which uses facial recognition technology for biometric, paperless travel, was reportedly launched digitally, marking a significant step toward modernizing airport procedures. Mangaluru Airport, operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, has been conducting DigiYatra trials since June 2024, with increasing passenger adoption expected to expand its use. The initiative aims to reduce wait times and improve security by eliminating physical documentation, while maintaining security and privacy standards.

The event underscores ongoing efforts by the government and private operators to modernize infrastructure and enhance passenger experience at Indian airports.
