Dassault Aviation, renowned for its business jets, remains optimistic about growth prospects in Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian region. The company recently unveiled its latest flagship, the Falcon 10X, a long-range, ultra-large-cabin jet designed to serve the needs of Asian family-owned businesses seeking to expand internationally. The aircraft boasts a range of 7,500 nautical miles, enabling non-stop travel from Southeast Asia to Europe or the US West Coast, and features the largest cabin among business jets worldwide.

According to Didier Raynard, senior vice-president of sales for Asia-Pacific, regional demand is driven by a new generation of entrepreneurs. These clients often travel in larger groups, making the Falcon 10X's seating capacity of up to 19 passengers highly suitable. The company has already secured firm orders for the aircraft from global clients. Support infrastructure in Southeast Asia, including hangar space and maintenance facilities, remains underdeveloped, but the region's economic growth and infrastructure projects present significant opportunities for the future.

Dassault has established support networks across the region, including a recent maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Melbourne. In Thailand, Dassault holds the second-largest share of the business aviation market, operating four Falcon jets. Its market position in Indonesia is also strong with nine aircraft, and it leads in Vietnam with six. The region's demand for private jets continues to grow, underscoring the importance of regional infrastructure and stability in fostering this growth.

Development of the Falcon 10X is progressing well, with over 3,000 hours of testing completed and certification anticipated within two years. The aircraft is equipped with advanced features derived from Dassault's military Rafale fighter, including a single smart throttle, terrain-avoidance systems, and safety recovery controls, enhancing both pilot workload management and safety.

Overall, Dassault's focus on Southeast Asia highlights the region's increasing attractiveness for ultra-long-range business aviation. As economic conditions stabilize and infrastructure improves, the company's regional strategy positions it well to capitalize on upcoming opportunities.
