Delta Airlines is significantly increasing its presence at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with its largest-ever schedule and a focus on offering a premium passenger experience. For summer 2027, Delta, along with its partners, will operate more than 200 daily departures to nearly 70 destinations, serving all of LAX's top 10 markets with multiple daily flights.

Delta's expansion includes new nonstop routes to Monterey and Philadelphia starting in late 2026 and early 2027, respectively, as well as increased services to cities such as Raleigh-Durham, Boston, San Diego, Cincinnati, Houston, San Antonio, and Seattle. The airline's growth is part of a strategic investment in connectivity and customer service, supported by significant infrastructure enhancements at LAX.

Facility upgrades and premium offerings

Delta is investing over $2.3 billion in the Sky Way project at LAX, modernizing terminals 2 and 3 into a connected, high-tech campus. This includes improved wayfinding, security processing, and terminal amenities. The airline also offers a dedicated Delta One Check-In and exclusive Delta One Lounges, with plans to expand its lounge footprint to over 60,000 square feet across four spaces by 2028.

"Our investments at LAX support our long-term growth and commitment to providing a superior experience to our customers," said Delta's executives.

Internationally, Delta is launching nonstop services to Melbourne starting in December 2025, and expanding its network in Asia-Pacific with new flights to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Vancouver, and Manila. The airline maintains its position as the largest carrier from LAX to Florida, with services to key cities and enhanced frequencies across the domestic network.

The airline also emphasizes its community ties and strategic partnerships in Los Angeles, supporting local organizations and sports teams while preparing for the 2028 Olympic Games, where it will serve as a founding partner of LA28 and the official airline of Team USA.
