Diehl Aviation has secured a significant support contract with Emirates for the ongoing retrofit of its fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft. This agreement marks a key milestone in the companies' long-term partnership, especially as Diehl expands its regional operations with a new workshop located in the Dubai Airport Freezone, which opened earlier in 2025. The facility is equipped with EASA Part 21G approval, allowing for local production, rework, and delivery of cabin components, thereby enabling shorter lead times and enhanced flexibility for retrofit projects.
The Dubai workshop will participate in selected work packages for the next phase of Emirates’ A380 retrofit program, providing on-site expertise in manufacturing, assembly, and logistics. The program involves retrofitting approximately 110 Airbus A380s, ensuring these large aircraft meet current standards and customer expectations.
Harald Mehring, Chief Customer Officer at Diehl Aviation, stated, "Being awarded the next phase of the Emirates A380 retrofit is a strong vote of confidence and an important milestone for Diehl Aviation. With our dedicated team and new setup in Dubai, we are well-positioned to support Emirates locally. This phase highlights our commitment to operational excellence and customer proximity in one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets."
