easyJet has announced a temporary suspension of its flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Belgrade during the peak summer period. The airline plans to operate its final flight on this route on July 26, 2026, and will resume services at the start of the 2026/27 winter season on October 26. Flight operations will be paused again during January 2027, with plans to restart in February. This is a continuation of a previous seasonal hiatus earlier in the year, when the route was suspended from January 9 to February 6.

Currently, easyJet operates twice weekly between Paris and Belgrade, directly competing with Air Serbia, which offers two daily flights on the route. The introduction of easyJet flights in October last year was part of their expansion from Geneva, which prompted Air Serbia to reduce fares and consider increasing frequency to up to sixteen weekly flights during winter. Nonetheless, Air Serbia scaled back most of those plans, maintaining only holiday season increases. Wizz Air continues to operate flights from Beauvais to Belgrade, over a hundred kilometers from Paris city center, providing another option for travelers.

Market Dynamics and Past Airline Operations

Paris remains among the busiest routes from Belgrade Airport. However, it has historically been challenging for foreign carriers to establish a long-term presence. In 2019, Air France resumed flights to Belgrade after a decade, though this service proved short-lived, with seasonal flights ceasing after the pandemic outbreak. Similarly, ASL Airlines France launched seasonal flights before withdrawing, and Transavia France's planned route from Orly was canceled due to issues involving Belgrade Airport's fuel supplier—an incident influenced by US sanctions.

airline partnerships between Air France and Air Serbia involve codesharing agreements, with Air France placing its flight number on Air Serbia flights to multiple destinations from Belgrade. Conversely, Air Serbia's code shares on select Air France flights enhance connectivity between Paris and various European cities, strengthening cooperation despite market challenges.
