EGYPTAIR has announced the delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft, establishing itself as the first airline in North Africa to operate this advanced widebody jet. The airline plans to deploy the aircraft on new non-stop routes connecting its Cairo hub to destinations across North Asia and the US West Coast, supporting its fleet modernization and network expansion efforts.
The newly delivered A350-900 features a two-class configuration including 30 Business Class suites with direct aisle access and 310 Economy Class seats. Airbus's latest Airspace cabin design promises enhanced ergonomic comfort for long-haul passengers, contributing to improved travel experience.
Technological and Environmental Advances
The Airbus A350-900 is celebrated as one of the most modern widebody aircraft, capable of flying up to 9,700 nautical miles. It is equipped with state-of-the-art aerodynamics, latest-generation Rolls-Royce engines, and lightweight materials that provide a 25% advantage in fuel efficiency and emissions reduction. The aircraft's design allows it to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus targeting full SAF compatibility by 2030. As of early 2026, the A350 family has received over 1,500 orders from 67 customers globally.
This commitment to sustainability and technological excellence positions the A350-900 as a key asset for airlines aiming to reduce environmental impact while expanding their international reach.
