EgyptAir has initiated support programs aimed at expanding civil aviation infrastructure and capabilities in Equatorial Guinea. A delegation from EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering recently visited Malabo to explore cooperation opportunities, including aircraft maintenance standards, workforce training, and infrastructure development at Mongomo.
The visit included discussions on adopting Egyptian standards for hangar management and establishing logistical hubs to foster aviation modernization. Future collaborations are expected to involve technical training support for CEIBA Intercontinental and the presidential fleet, alongside plans for a direct route connecting Cairo and Malabo.
According to recent data, CEIBA Intercontinental operates a Boeing 777-200LR, MSN 40668, from Malabo to Bodrum Milas. The airline’s other aircraft, including ATR42 and ATR72 models and a Boeing 767-300ER, are not actively tracked on ADS-B data. The efforts highlight EgyptAir’s broader strategy to expand its presence across Africa, leveraging your technical expertise to support regional development and connectivity.
The initiative also includes plans to modernize aviation facilities in Mongomo, which serves as the new administrative capital of Equatorial Guinea, designated in January 2026. Overall, the cooperation aims to bolster civil aviation infrastructure and facilitate increased regional connectivity in the coming years.
