EirTrade Aviation, a prominent player in aviation asset management, has announced the acquisition of two Airbus A320neos from Spirit Airlines in partnership with the lessor RESIDCO. The aircraft, aged just over three and four years, will undergo teardown in Arizona, making them the youngest of their kind to be dismantled for parts. The components will subsequently be transported to EirTrade's Dallas hub, where they will be available for sale and exchange by the end of the first quarter.
Recognizing the importance of maintaining a strong inventory of aircraft parts, especially for the Airbus A320neo family, EirTrade states that the current fleet comprises over 4,400 aircraft in service and 7,200 on order worldwide. Vice President Bill Thompson emphasized that the company's focus on newer vintage aircraft ensures access to high-quality rotables and up-to-date compatible components, supporting customer requirements. The recent transaction also includes four sets of in-demand LRUs and BFE components from the PW1100 engine, highlighting an approach centered on efficient lifecycle asset management.
Industry Collaboration and Strategic Outlook
RESIDCO's Director of Aviation Marketing, Dave Kolber, underscored that this transaction exemplifies the long-standing collaboration between EirTrade and RESIDCO, built on shared expertise in handling complex, high-value aviation assets. RESIDCO's portfolio includes leasing options for aircraft and engines, teardown financing, and other related services. This development aligns with industry trends prioritizing the reuse, recycling, and value maximization of aircraft assets to optimize industry sustainability and profitability.
