Embraer has delivered the 50th E195-E2 aircraft to Porter Airlines, marking a significant milestone in the airline's fleet expansion. Porter, which has confirmed orders for 75 aircraft with an additional 25 purchase rights, aims to increase its fleet capacity to support its growing regional network across Canada, the U.S., and the Caribbean and Central America.

The airline plans to introduce 13 new routes this season, connecting popular destinations such as Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Liberia from major Canadian airports including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Hamilton. The acquisition of the 50th E2 enhances Porter’s ability to serve these markets with increased capacity and frequency.

Michael Deluce, Porter’s President and CEO, emphasized the airline’s commitment to passenger experience, stating, “Since our founding, we have focused on making economy flying pleasurable. The E2’s introduction supports this goal with a modern, comfortable environment and our promise of no middle seats.”

Nigel Patterson, Embraer’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing, highlighted Porter’s role as a disruptor in North American travel, noting that the E195-E2’s operational efficiency and passenger amenities align with modern market demands. The aircraft’s lower fuel consumption and extended range make it ideal for high-frequency routes.

The E195-E2, the largest and most advanced member of Embraer’s E-Jets E2 family, provides up to 29% lower fuel burn and a range of 3,000 nautical miles, supporting nonstop flights across North America. Its features include onboard Wi-Fi, seatback power, and a cabin design free of middle seats, enhancing passenger comfort. Porter’s focus on delivering a premium experience, with complimentary beverages, premium snacks, and streaming Wi-Fi, reinforces its reputation as a leading regional carrier, poised for further growth and network expansion.
