The United Arab Emirates’ defence-industry regulator, the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, has announced the acquisition of two Embraer Praetor 600 jets, valued at AED212 million (USD57.8 million). These aircraft are designated for use by the UAE Air Force, which maintains a fleet of civilian-derived jets from Bombardier Business Aircraft, including Challenger 650s, Global 6000s, and Global 6500s outfitted with Saab airborne surveillance systems.
The latest contract signifies the UAE's ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet of VIP and military aircraft, reflecting strategic priorities for enhanced mobility and national prestige. Currently, the country’s Presidential Flight operates a variety of aircraft, including Boeing B777 and B787 models, with one aircraft stored in Moses Lake since April 2024.
This move highlights the region's commitment to integrating advanced aerospace technology, ensuring that VIP and defense aircraft meet current operational and diplomatic needs. The inclusion of Embraer jets in the UAE fleet demonstrates the country's focus on versatile, high-performance aircraft capable of serving both government and military functions.
