Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student Patricia Palacios Anez has gained significant industry experience through her recent summer internship in aviation maintenance in Miami. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration, she leveraged her academic training and personal connections in the aviation community to secure this opportunity. During her internship at A&P Plus Structures, she was involved in quality control processes, inspections, and compliance audits, gaining practical skills in aviation maintenance and industry software such as Smart145 and AirbusWorld.
Palacios’s background was shaped early by her exposure to aircraft and aviation environments, influenced by her family's support and her passion for the field. Her academic coursework, combined with university-sponsored networking events, prepared her for her internship, which she described as a transformative experience that reinforced the importance of precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement in aviation safety and quality.
Mentorship from industry professionals, including Sloane Churchill from MBA Aviation, has contributed to her professional growth. Looking ahead, Palacios plans to complete her studies and pursue additional internships, focusing on integrating marketing, operations, and strategic management. She is also active in advocating for diversity and women in aviation, with plans to intern at Textron Aviation in 2026 as a delivery coordinator in Kansas.
This story exemplifies how Embry-Riddle students combine academic excellence with real-world experience to prepare for leadership roles in the aerospace industry.
