Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students were celebrated at the 68th Annual Laureate Awards in Washington, D.C., recognized as part of Aviation Week’s 20 Twenties honor, which spotlights emerging leaders in aerospace. Four of the honorees from Embry-Riddle also toured NASA headquarters and met with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, an alumnus of the university.
The honorees, including students Daniella Bezuidenhout, Emanuele Bossi, Natalie Brattain, Skylar Butler, Grace Gratton, and Spoorti Nanjamma, represented the largest group from a single university in the program's history. The recognition was part of a luncheon and awards event that honors innovation and achievement in the aviation and aerospace industries.
Visit to NASA and Industry Insights
The students’ visit to NASA included a tour of the agency’s headquarters and an engaging discussion with Jared Isaacman, who was sworn in as NASA’s 15th administrator last year. Isaacman, a 2011 graduate of Embry-Riddle, encouraged students to pursue ambitious careers in aerospace, citing his own experiences leading the Polaris Dawn and Inspiration4 missions—both involving Embry-Riddle alumni or equipment.
“It’s a great time to be in this industry as an Embry-Riddle Eagle,” said Jared Isaacman.
Embry-Riddle's leadership, including President P. Barry Butler, highlighted the importance of practical, hands-on learning and mentorship in cultivating the next generation of aerospace innovators. The university’s emphasis on research, resilience, and community service continues to produce industry-ready graduates capable of advancing aerospace technology and exploration.
