Dubai-based airline Emirates reported carrying 55.6 million passengers in 2025, marking a significant milestone and reaffirming its status as the world's leading international airline. The airline operated nearly 180,580 flights during the year, completing flights equivalent to circling the Earth over 29,000 times, and placed orders for 73 new aircraft as part of its ongoing growth strategy.

In 2025, Emirates launched its first Airbus A350 aircraft and expanded its network to 18 cities with these aircraft. The airline also enhanced its Asian routes by adding non-stop flights to Shenzhen and Hangzhou, along with services to Da Nang and Siem Reap. Its fleet improvements included the refurbishment of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, with the Airbus A350 joining more than 100 aircraft configured with Premium Economy cabins, serving nearly 70 destinations worldwide.

Technological and Sports Sponsorship Milestones

In November, Emirates announced plans to integrate Starlink satellite internet on 232 aircraft, starting with Boeing 777s, making it the first airline to equip Airbus A380s with this technology early in 2026. The company also engaged in extensive sponsorships in 2025, including partnerships with FC Bayern Munich, World Rugby, and others, as well as expanding its Emirates Skywards loyalty program to 37 million members worldwide.

The airline launched Emirates Courier Express, which now operates in 10 international markets, and enhanced its accessible travel options, becoming the world's first Autism Certified Airline. This initiative involved staff training and the introduction of new onboard tools and support systems to accommodate passengers with disabilities. Such efforts underline Emirates' commitment to innovation and inclusivity in aviation.

Looking ahead, Emirates intends to continue expanding its fleet and service offerings, aiming to further improve passenger experience and operational efficiency. These developments reflect the airline’s strategic focus on growth, technological innovation, and social responsibility in the dynamic airline industry.
