The 18th Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is scheduled to take place from January 21 to 27 at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, bringing together an extensive lineup of international and regional authors. Over 200 notable speakers from 40 countries will participate in a diverse program of literary talks, workshops, and masterclasses, covering topics spanning fiction, Arabic literature, poetry, and non-fiction.

Highlighted among the international guests are RF Kuang, a bestselling author from the United States; Scott Turow, an acclaimed novelist and lawyer; and Ruth Ware, a British crime fiction writer whose works have been adapted for film. Regional literary figures such as Lebanese novelist Hoda Barakat, winner of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, and other distinguished writers from the Arab world will also attend, emphasizing the festival’s commitment to Arab literary culture.

The festival will feature discussions on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s recent publication, 'Life Taught Me,' alongside centenary celebrations for the Emirati poet Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais. It aims to honor milestones in Arab literature and invite dialogue on its future. The event underscores Dubai’s role as a hub for cultural and literary exchange and seeks to inspire curiosity and connection among its diverse attendees.

Festival founder Ahlam Bolooki highlighted that the event’s enduring appeal lies in its inclusive programming and capacity to foster global conversations. Ticket prices start from Dh50, with early-bird discounts available until December 28. Overall, the festival aims to promote literacy, celebrate Arab cultural identity, and provide a platform for emerging and established voices in literature.
