Emirates has announced plans to implement Starlink satellite internet across its entire fleet, aiming to provide passengers with high-speed, complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi by 2027. The airline will initially equip its Boeing 777 aircraft, with the first deployment as early as this month, followed by the Airbus A380 starting February 2026. The initiative is part of Emirates' broader focus on enhancing passenger experience through technological upgrades and fleet refurbishments.
According to Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, partnering with Starlink marks a significant milestone in their commitment to better inflight connectivity, enabling seamless content streaming, work calls, and social media browsing at cruising altitude. The airline plans to install two antennas on each Boeing 777 and three on each A380 to ensure consistent high-quality service across all cabins. The Starlink service will be provided free of charge to passengers, with no additional fees involved.
Besides enhancing connectivity, Emirates has been actively refurbishing its fleet, including over 76 aircraft already upgraded with new cabins and amenities, with further efforts to align older models with new-generation aircraft like the A350 and 777X. These upgrades aim to improve overall passenger satisfaction and maintain Emirates’ status as a leading global airline.
