Emirates has announced a new interline agreement with Loong Air, significantly expanding its operational footprint across China. This partnership allows Emirates customers to access 22 Chinese cities operated by Loong Air via hubs like Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, enhancing both leisure and business connectivity throughout the region.
The collaboration simplifies booking processes by enabling multi-airline itineraries with unified fares and baggage policies. Emirates' ongoing commitment to the Chinese market is reflected in its recent service launches to Shenzhen and Hangzhou, along with the deployment of its Premium Economy product on these routes and the return of its A380 aircraft to Shanghai. Since establishing operations in China in 2004, Emirates now serves five major cities with 49 weekly flights using a mix of A380s, A350s, and Boeing 777s.
About the partnership and strategic expansion
In addition to its partnership with Loong Air, Emirates maintains alliances with Air China, China Southern Airlines, and Sichuan Airlines, facilitating access to over 110 Chinese points beyond its own gateways. Loong Air, founded in 2011 and beginning international services in 2016, has expanded its network with multiple international routes and alliances, including partnerships with Cathay Pacific and Uzbekistan Airways.
"This agreement marks a significant step in Emirates’ strategic expansion in China, offering passengers greater connectivity and seamless travel options,"
Official contacts include key executives from Asian Aviation and BSP Media, reflecting the importance of this cooperation for the future of aviation in China.
