Emirates has announced that starting July 1, 2026, it will deploy its Airbus A350 aircraft on its Dubai-Cape Town route, adding a third daily flight. This move marks the first time the airline’s A350 will operate in Southern Africa and aims to increase travel options and flexibility for passengers. Alongside existing Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, the A350 will enhance the airline's fleet diversity and service offerings.

The deployment is part of Emirates' broader strategy to expand connectivity and improve service quality across its network. The airline is also expanding its Premium Economy class, which will be introduced on the third daily flight as well as on newly retrofitted Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft. These aircraft upgrades will feature improved seating, dining options, and greater legroom, providing travelers with a more comfortable experience.

Additional Route Expansions

In addition to the Cape Town route, Emirates will introduce new daily flights to Copenhagen starting June 1, 2026, and a third flight to Phuket beginning July 1, 2026. These services are part of the airline's efforts to meet rising travel demand, especially in key markets across Europe, Asia, and Australasia. The use of the A350 on these routes is expected to facilitate better connections and more options for international travelers.

Emirates emphasizes its focus on fleet efficiency and sustainability, with the A350 offering technological advantages such as lower emissions, improved fuel efficiency, and quieter operations. The airline's fleet strategy reflects its aim to deliver high-quality service while reducing environmental impact.

Overall, the introduction of the Airbus A350 on the Dubai-Cape Town route represents a significant step in Emirates’ global expansion and commitment to passenger comfort and environmental responsibility. It will provide South African travelers with enhanced access to the Middle East and other international markets, supporting Emirates’ position as a leader in luxury aviation.
