Emirates has introduced a distinctive new livery on its Airbus A380 aircraft, prominently featuring the national flag of the United Arab Emirates across the fuselage. This initiative is part of the "This Flag Will Always Fly" campaign, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which aims to promote national pride and unity by increasing the visibility of UAE symbols in the global aviation arena.
The newly painted aircraft, registered A6-EVG, has already conducted successful long-haul flights to destinations such as New York and Brisbane. Emirates plans to extend this branding to additional aircraft within its fleet, including Boeing 777s, moving beyond the traditional placement of the UAE flag on tail fins to a broader application on the aircraft body itself. The process of applying the liveries takes place at Emirates Engineering facilities in Dubai, where specialized techniques ensure their durability under various atmospheric conditions.
Industry analysts view this strategy as a branding move to reinforce Dubai's stature as a major international aviation hub and to demonstrate regional economic resilience. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates Group, emphasized the airline's role as a symbol of the nation’s technological progress and economic strength. The campaign is also seen as a response to recent regional challenges, leveraging the airline’s global reach to showcase the UAE’s stability, unity, and aspirations on the international stage. The aircraft is expected to serve as a flying ambassador of the UAE for many years to come, reflecting the country's commitment to progress and social cohesion.
