Emirates airline is preparing to install ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire fleet, with initial deployment on Boeing 777 aircraft scheduled for November 2025. The airline plans to retrofit approximately 14 aircraft each month, with Airbus A380 installations beginning in February 2026. This new service aims to provide passengers with complimentary, ground-quality internet capable of supporting streaming, gaming, calls, and social media use at cruising altitude.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates, stated that partnering with SpaceX’s Starlink marks a crucial milestone in their commitment to enhancing inflight connectivity and passenger experience. The first commercial flight equipped with Starlink will depart shortly after the Dubai Airshow 2025, signifying the start of a fleet-wide upgrade.
Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations, SpaceX, expressed confidence that onboard passengers will be able to enjoy seamless streaming and communication, similar to ground services. The rollout complements Emirates’ existing extensive entertainment offerings and reflects ongoing efforts to modernize the fleet with new cabins and premium features, including a refreshed First Class and Business cabins.
Currently, 76 aircraft have been fully refurbished as part of the airline’s comprehensive fleet upgrade program involving nearly 220 aircraft, which also encompasses new onboard lounges and entertainment systems. The initiative underscores Emirates’ focus on maintaining industry-leading onboard connectivity and passenger satisfaction.
