Epic Flight Academy has distributed scholarships totaling $145,000 to 17 students as part of its 10th Annual Aviation Scholarship Awards. These scholarships support aspiring pilots and aircraft mechanics, contributing to the development of careers in the aviation industry. Since inception, the academy has awarded over half a million dollars in scholarships nationwide.
According to Dr. Cindy Lovell, director of education, there was a record response of more than 150 applications from 24 states, with the winners coming from 12 states. The applicants were judged on their merit, with the high quality of submissions noted by officials.
Notable Scholarship Recipient Stories
CEO Danny Perna highlighted an inspiring story of a Wisconsin student who survived an engine failure during a cross-country flight yet safely landed on a country road, exemplifying the resilience and skill fostered through their training programs. The award included a $20,000 pilot scholarship named after Captain Judy Rice.
The King Air Nation Foundation also contributed additional funds for both a pilot and a mechanic student, underscoring industry support for aviation training. Epic Flight Academy, established in 1999, continues to expand its role as a leading provider of FAA-approved flight and mechanic schools across the United States.
