Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, marked an exceptional year in 2025 by securing over 25 major international awards. These recognitions spanned safety, customer service, cabin innovation, and operational resilience, affirming its role as a leader in the global aviation industry.

Based at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, the airline's achievements reflect the UAE's strategic focus on elevating its aviation sector. Notably, Etihad became the first regional airline to earn a Seven-Star Plus Safety Rating, a distinction shared with only three other airlines worldwide, emphasizing its commitment to operational safety and regulatory compliance.

Safety and Customer Service Excellence

Further validation of its safety leadership was provided by rankings from Airline Ratings, placing Etihad among the five safest full-service airlines globally. The airline also received prestigious awards from the World Travel Awards for customer experience, economy and business class lounges, and onboard services, supporting its reputation for high-quality passenger care.

"These awards underscore our dedication to safety and service excellence,"

said Tony Douglas, Group CEO of Etihad Airways.

In addition, the airline’s cargo division and business continuity initiatives earned recognition, underlining its operational resilience amid a competitive environment. Fleet modernization, route network expansion, and investments in premium products contributed to solid growth and positioned Abu Dhabi as a key global travel gateway.

Etihad’s strong performance in 2025 reinforces the UAE's broader ambitions to enhance tourism and international connectivity, further elevating the country's stature in the global aviation landscape.
