In 2025, Etihad Airways has reached a significant milestone by recording its highest nine-month revenue and expanding its international footprint. The airline's revenue increased by 18 percent year-on-year, totaling AED 21.7 billion (USD 5.9 billion), driven largely by growth in both passenger and cargo segments. Passenger revenue rose by 20 percent, supported by network expansion and higher capacity, while cargo revenue increased by 8 percent due to increased volumes.
Operationally, Etihad posted EBITDA of AED 4.3 billion (USD 1.2 billion), reflecting a 27 percent rise and an EBITDA margin of 20 percent. The airline's cash flow also saw a substantial increase, reaching AED 6 billion (USD 1.5 billion). Passenger traffic surged, with 16.1 million passengers carried in the first nine months, marking an 18 percent increase from the previous year. The airline’s high load factor of 88 percent further demonstrates strong demand and efficiency.
Fleet Expansion and Route Development
The introduction of the Airbus A321LR fleet has improved customer experience, contributing to higher satisfaction levels. Etihad expanded its fleet by adding 19 aircraft, including Airbus A321LR, Boeing 787s, Airbus A350s, and A320s, reaching a total of 115 aircraft by September. This expansion facilitated a more than 20 percent year-on-year increase in Available Seat Kilometres (ASK). The airline also announced new routes to Atlanta, Al Alamein, and plans to serve Salalah, Kazan, and Krakow, thereby extending its reach across multiple regions.
Network and Workforce Growth
With nearly 300 daily flights serving over 100 destinations, Etihad's network now includes 91 active points. The airline carried over 20 million passengers on a rolling 12-month basis and strengthened alliances such as a new loyalty program with Vietnam Airlines and cargo collaborations with Atlas Air. The airline's workforce grew significantly, welcoming over 2,600 new employees, including pilots and cabin crew, and promoting over 1,500 staff members. This growth underscores the airline’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Future Outlook
Looking forward, Etihad Airways continues to prioritize expansion and efficiency. Its strategic investments and network development aim to sustain growth, support Abu Dhabi's tourism industry, and reinforce its position as a leading global airline.
