In November 2025, Etihad Airways announced the launch of four new routes as part of its ongoing expansion efforts. The airline introduced services to Tunis, Hanoi, Chiang Mai, and Hong Kong, aiming to bolster its connectivity and accommodate growing demand from its hub in Abu Dhabi. These routes were launched over three days, underscoring the carrier’s strong growth trajectory in 2025, which has seen record passenger numbers and fleet expansion. The new services are expected to enhance tourism, trade, and regional connectivity, with each destination adding unique value to the network.
According to Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves, these expansions reflect the airline’s commitment to connecting diverse cultures and supporting economic growth. The Tunis route operates thrice weekly on Airbus A321LR aircraft, while Hanoi is served multiple times with Boeing 787 aircraft. The Chiang Mai service operates four times weekly using the Airbus A321LR, and Hong Kong flights are scheduled five times weekly utilizing Boeing 787s. This year alone, Etihad’s network has grown to nearly 90 destinations, supported by a fleet increase to 115 aircraft, making 2025 one of the busiest years in the airline's history.
The airline’s capacity has increased by 25%, with daily scheduled flights surpassing 300, marking a significant milestone. The expansion of routes and fleet highlights Etihad’s strategic focus on enhancing regional and international connectivity, aligning with its goal to sustain growth and market presence in Asia and Europe.
