Eurocontrol has released its latest Data Snapshot, providing an initial overview of the European aviation network's performance in 2025. The report highlights a 4% increase in total flights, reaching 11.12 million, surpassing 2024 and slightly exceeding pre-pandemic levels of 2019. The increase reflects strong cooperation among stakeholders and robust recovery efforts post-pandemic.

Key figures indicate an average of 30,474 daily flights, with significant improvements in punctuality—76.1% of flights arriving on time, representing a 3.5 percentage point increase from the previous year. Additionally, delays caused by air traffic flow management (ATFM) have decreased by 17%, now averaging 2.4 minutes per flight, largely due to fewer weather-related disruptions.

Implications for European Air Traffic Management

This data underscores the resilience and adaptability of European air traffic management systems. An upcoming comprehensive European Aviation Overview and an Aviation Engage webinar will analyze these figures in greater detail, engaging industry leaders to discuss further enhancements in operational efficiency.
