This year’s Aerospace Maintenance Council’s Competition, held during MRO Americas, showcased the skills of top industry teams. FedEx Express’s Team MEM from Memphis International Airport achieved the overall top honors, winning both the overall title and multiple individual categories. Their success reflects the strength of their maintenance and operational teams across the company.
Similarly, Tulsa Tech’s Adult Students team distinguished themselves as the top school team, winning the Moeller Click-Loc Challenge and earning the AireXpert Dream Team Award. Their performance underscores Tulsa Tech’s training excellence, particularly among aerospace maintenance students.
Industry Recognition and Awards
The competition also awarded the general aviation category to aircraft engineers from Aircraft Engineers International and the military category to the U.S. Army’s 128th Aviation Brigade, known as Team Chinook. Tiffany Gray of Team Chinook was recognized for her professionalism with the AMC Professionalism Award, while Jeremy Janes from Chennault Aviation Maintenance Academy received the award in the student category.
Several students earned scholarships supporting FAA certification exams, signifying the importance of workforce development in the industry. The event honored past winners such as Southwest Airlines Team Herb, which won five events, and Tarrant County College, taking six awards.
Industry experts, including Lindsay Bjerregaard, the managing editor of Aviation Week’s MRO portfolio, provided coverage highlighting the event’s significance. The competition illustrates the industry’s ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation, and workforce readiness.
