Flame Aviation, a Netherlands-based manufacturer of cabin fire and smoke training equipment, has completed factory acceptance testing for the third V7000 Brigade fire trainer for TUI Airways. This training device is designated for deployment at the airline’s East Midlands training center in the United Kingdom. In addition, a U.K.-based training facility at Gatwick is slated to receive a similar unit in early 2027, further enhancing practical cabin safety training infrastructure across TUI’s UK operations.

The V7000 Brigade is a compact, single-cabin fire and smoke trainer measuring approximately 9.0 meters by 2.4 meters by 2.6 meters, capable of accommodating two to three trainees and an instructor. It features scenarios involving laptops, smartphones, ovens, seats, luggage compartments, and lavatories, with functionalities including controlled fire, smoke, heat, glowing spots, and short-circuit effects. TUI emphasizes East Midlands Airport as its primary training hub for flight and cabin crew, with additional facilities at Gatwick, Manchester, and Luton. In 2024, the airline trained 443 new cabin crew members at East Midlands alone.

"The V7000 Brigade fire trainers support realistic cabin safety exercises, ensuring crew preparedness for various emergency scenarios,"

said Flame Aviation spokesperson.

Flame Aviation also supplied a V7000 Brigade VIEW cabin fire and smoke trainer to CrewSafety’s facility in Melbourne, Australia, earlier in 2026, illustrating its deployment across global markets. The company’s portfolio includes other fire training systems such as V9000 Commander and V10 Titan, which serve the aviation safety training sector.

Moreover, TUI Airways operates a fleet comprising Boeing 737-800s, 737 MAX 8s, and 787 aircraft, supporting its position as one of the major UK-based airlines within the TUI Group.
