Flyadeal, the low-cost carrier based in Saudi Arabia, is preparing for a major expansion of its fleet and route network. The airline intends to more than double its current fleet, which consists of 45 Airbus A320 aircraft, to over 100 aircraft by 2030. This growth is part of a strategic plan to include larger and longer-range aircraft, starting with the delivery of Airbus A321 narrow-body planes in June 2027, capable of accommodating 240 passengers, and Airbus A330neo wide-body planes later that year, which can carry up to 420 passengers and service routes up to 13 hours long.

The airline's CEO, Steven Greenway, stated that these new aircraft will facilitate non-stop flights to Southeast Asia, Europe, including the UK and France, and other international destinations. This expansion aligns with increased passenger demand, which rose by 33 percent in 2025, surpassing 10 million travelers. Flyadeal operates 250 daily flights from bases in Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, and Medina, serving destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and South Asia.

Operational Challenges and Outlook

Although fleet delays have caused some operational adjustments, the airline remains confident in reaching its fleet and destination goals. Greenway expressed that the airline may need to push some aircraft to operate up to 14 hours daily amid delivery delays. The airline also plans to acquire 10 Airbus A330neo aircraft initially, with options for ten more within the next two years, to support its long-haul ambitions.

Overall, Flyadeal's strategic growth aims to enhance its regional dominance and establish a significant presence in long-haul international markets, leveraging new Airbus aircraft to meet rising demand and expand its global footprint.
