flydubai has announced a strategic partnership with Egnatia Aviation and Skyborne Airline Academy aimed at enhancing its pilot training capabilities through its MPL Cadet Pilot Program. This collaboration involves the delivery of flight instruction for the airline's initial batches, offering aspiring pilots a clear pathway to achieve MPL certification and transition into flydubai's operational fleet as first officers.
CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith highlighted the company's dedication to cultivating aviation talent and supporting growth. The partnership leverages flydubai's advanced training infrastructure combined with the extensive expertise of Egnatia and Skyborne, solidifying Dubai's status as a global hub for aviation training and talent development.
Supporting Long-term Growth
The program, initiated in May 2025, provides a comprehensive training pathway including ground school, simulator sessions, and flight instruction, targeting candidates aged 17 to 28 from varied nationalities. The initiative reflects flydubai's strategic plan to establish a sustainable pilot pipeline amid its fleet and network expansion.
“Our partnership with Egnatia and Skyborne offers our cadets access to top-tier instructors and training infrastructure,” said Captain Ahmad Bin Huzaim. “This ensures our trainees are well-prepared to meet the highest industry standards and support our operational excellence.”
With a dedicated 38,000-square-foot Flight Training centre equipped with four Boeing 737 simulators, flydubai emphasizes the importance of modern facilities in pilot development. The airline’s current fleet of nearly 100 Boeing 737 aircraft serves over 125 destinations worldwide, with plans to acquire additional aircraft, including 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners arriving in 2028.
Employing 7,000 staff from 144 nations, the airline maintains a significant pilot workforce, including over 1,520 qualified pilots, continually expanding to support its growth strategy.
