flydubai has announced a strategic partnership with Egnatia Aviation and Skyborne Airline Academy to enhance its pilot training capabilities. The collaboration aims to support flydubai’s Ab Initio Pilot Training Programme by providing structured flight instruction for cadets pursuing a Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL). This program, launched in May 2025, offers a comprehensive pathway from ground training to line operations, targeting young candidates from various countries.

CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating that it reflects flydubai’s commitment to investing in the next generation of pilots to sustain its fleet and network expansion. The partnership combines flydubai’s in-house training facilities with external expertise from well-established international academies, strengthening Dubai’s position as a global aviation training hub.

Egnatia Aviation and Skyborne to Support Inaugural Cadets

The academies will deliver initial flight training for the first batches of cadets in this programme, which aims to produce well-qualified pilots capable of meeting international standards. Egnatia Aviation, based in Europe and approved by the UAE and European aviation authorities, will leverage its experience to ensure high-quality training. Skyborne, known for its focus on commercial pilot training with industry-leading standards, will contribute its expertise and modern facilities.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to investing in the next generation of aviation talent and building the capabilities needed to support flydubai’s long-term growth,”

said Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai.

Both academies will provide access to advanced flight training infrastructure, including simulators and experienced instructors, to prepare cadets for careers in international airlines. The programme aims to attract candidates between 17 and 28 from various countries, fostering Dubai’s role as a hub for global aviation talent development.

With nearly 100 Boeing 737s operated across more than 125 destinations and over 300 aircraft on order, flydubai is expanding rapidly. The partnership with these international training providers will support the airline’s recruitment efforts and ensure a continuous supply of qualified pilots for its expanding fleet and global operations.
