The private Mauritanian company Global Aviation is nearing the final step towards obtaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for operation in Senegal. After nearly three years of process, their demonstration flight on the Dakar-Ouagadougou route, completed on December 26, 2025, marks a key regulatory milestone.

This demonstration was supervised by inspectors from the National Civil Aviation and Meteorology Agency (ANACIM) and assessed critical operational procedures, crew competence, aircraft airworthiness, and overall safety protocols. Successful completion of this technical step brings the company closer to launching regular commercial flights in Senegal, which is a significant market for West African aviation.

Pending final approval from Senegalese authorities, the granting of the AOC will allow Global Aviation to further develop its regional presence, complementing its operations across Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Mali, Guinea, Niger, and Cape Verde. The company's strategy emphasizes regional integration and operational sovereignty, aligning with broader trends of intra-African connectivity enhancement.
