Global Aviation, a prominent flying school located at Ikaros Airport in Greece, has placed an order for five Elixir+ aircraft from Elixir Aviation. This order coincides with the aircraft's recent unveiling at Aero Friedrichshafen and marks the start of deliveries scheduled for this summer. The Elixir+ model is an upgraded version of its predecessor, featuring an increased maximum take-off weight, redesigned wings, and expanded wingspan, aimed at improving aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.
With a history spanning nearly three decades and a student body of approximately 300 learners, Global Aviation is seeking to modernize and expand its fleet of Cessnas and Pipers to meet the rising demand for airline pilots in the Mediterranean region. According to managing director Alexandros Tsaktanis, the choice of Elixir+ aligns with the company's vision for a pilot training environment that is technology-driven, operationally agile, and sustainable, supporting the development of future pilots with advanced training aircraft.
The Elixir+ aircraft has already received European certification and US approval, and now becomes the manufacturer's standard production model, emphasizing efficiency and sustainability. This strategic purchase signifies a key step in reinforcing the training provider's capabilities and its commitment to adopting innovative aircraft to prepare pilots for the evolving aviation industry.
