Gulfstream Aerospace has achieved a significant milestone with the successful first flight of its new Gulfstream G300 aircraft. Departing from Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport, the aircraft flew for approximately two hours and twenty-five minutes at Mach 0.75, reaching an altitude of 30,000 feet. This event marks the entry of the G300 into its testing phase, illustrating Gulfstream’s commitment to innovation and market leadership in the super-midsize category.
The G300 is designed to offer the largest interior space in its segment, featuring natural light from ten panoramic oval windows, and accommodating up to ten passengers across two living areas. It boasts the lowest cabin altitude in its class at 4,800 feet, along with 100% fresh air and plasma air ionisation for enhanced comfort. With an impressive range of 3,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.80, and powered by Honeywell HTF7250G engines, it exemplifies fuel efficiency and long-range capability.
Advanced Technology and Safety Features
Equipped with the Gulfstream Harmony Flight Deck, the G300 incorporates six touch screens, synthetic vision, and predictive landing systems to improve safety and pilot ease. Its development included over 2,000 hours of ground testing, with additional aircraft in production phase. Gulfstream’s president, Mark Burns, highlighted the aircraft’s role as a standard-bearer for next-generation performance, safety, and comfort in the super-midsize sector.
The aircraft’s first flight demonstrates Gulfstream’s ongoing innovation, promising a standard-bearer for large-cabin comfort and operational efficiency. The G300’s entry into service is anticipated to impact the market significantly, providing a new option for long-range and comfortable travel.
