Leading Hong Kong-based MRO provider HAECO has announced an expansion of its services for Airbus aircraft through a new partnership with Safran Electronics and Defense. This agreement focuses on supporting Airbus A320 and A330 series flight control and actuation components, enhancing repair capabilities at HAECO’s Xiamen facility for operators across the Asia-Pacific region.
The collaboration signifies further integration of Safran’s aerospace portfolio, following its acquisition of Collins Aerospace’s flight control systems. Previously, HAECO obtained authorization from Safran Aerosystems to support evacuation slides on the Chinese-manufactured Comac C919, demonstrating its growing technical expertise.
Advancements in Engine System Support
Since late 2024, HAECO has also been involved in installing reverse bleed systems on CFM International Leap-1A and -1B engines, used on Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 Max aircraft. These modifications, mandated by the OEM, aim to reduce carbon buildup on engine fuel nozzles, with early installations completed in Dallas, Hong Kong, and London.
The company’s broader offerings include airframe maintenance, line services, parts manufacturing, and technical training, positioning it as a comprehensive support partner for Airbus and other aircraft fleets. Industry analysts view these developments as part of the broader trend toward specialized support and reliable aircraft system management.
Looking to the future, HAECO intends to deepen its collaborations and develop capabilities that improve aircraft safety and efficiency, especially within the growing Asia-Pacific market. Such strategic alliances are vital for maintaining competitiveness and supporting airline operations in a rapidly evolving aerospace environment.
