The inauguration of Noida International Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant development in the NCR's aviation landscape. The event drew an estimated 150,000 attendees, many carrying national and BJP flags, and featured cultural performances, decorations, and large cut-outs of the Prime Minister.
Celebrations centered around the theme of “Brij,” linking the region to Lord Krishna, with devotional music performed by Hemant Brijwasi and participations from local farmers, workers, and residents from nearby districts. Large fleets of buses transported people from different parts of western Uttar Pradesh, many experiencing an airport for the first time.
While the event was a visual spectacle of celebration, some attendees, like Charan Singh from Bulandshahr, expressed disappointment, expecting to see flights during the event. Songs praising the Chief Minister and remarks from officials emphasized the airport’s potential to boost trade, tourism, and employment opportunities in the region. Local residents voiced optimism about better connectivity and reduced travel times, seeing the project as an economic boon for their communities.
