Tata Projects has announced a strategic partnership with ASI Global to develop aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) infrastructure across India. This initiative aims to address the country’s need for modern maintenance facilities capable of supporting its rapidly growing aviation sector.
The collaboration will provide comprehensive services from the initial design and engineering phases to the construction, installation, and operational delivery of new MRO and aircraft hangar facilities. By leveraging ASI Global’s innovative modular construction technologies, the partnership seeks to deliver scalable solutions swiftly, accommodating India’s diverse geographical demands.
Enhancing Domestic Capabilities
One of the key objectives is to increase India’s domestic MRO capacity to reduce reliance on aircraft maintenance abroad. Currently, the limited infrastructure often compels Indian airlines to send aircraft overseas for heavy maintenance work. This partnership intends to bolster local options, supporting the government’s vision of a self-sufficient MRO ecosystem.
"This collaboration will significantly improve the quality and availability of MRO facilities in India, catering to both commercial and defense needs," said Tata Projects.
By combining Tata Projects’ engineering expertise with ASI Global’s advanced modular technologies, the partnership expects to deliver maintenance infrastructure faster and more flexibly. The new facilities are projected to serve a broad range of customers, including airlines, airports, and defense operators, fostering a more resilient and growth-oriented aviation industry in India.
