At the International Conference on Green Aviation in Xi’an, China, from October 21 to 24, 2025, representatives of over 600 airports emphasized the significance of harmonised standards and policies to advance the development of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). The event, co-organised by the International Association for Green Aviation and the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, gathered over 500 industry delegates, including government officials, research institutes, and technology providers.
Discussions focused on fostering collaboration to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and ICAO’s goal of achieving net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050. Mr. Philip Kwok from ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East underscored the importance of safety, security, and fair market access in promoting innovation within the aviation sector. He highlighted the increasing investments in AAM, which promises to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency.
He stressed that developing harmonised standards, certifications, and policy frameworks is critical to ensuring safe and sustainable mobility solutions. The conference called for continuous dialogue among stakeholders to encourage pragmatic collaborations that will shape a smarter and greener future for global air transport.
