Investors are increasingly directing their focus towards early-stage deeptech startups across sectors such as aviation, biotech, and precision manufacturing in India. Despite a slowdown in growth-stage funding, several promising early-stage rounds are underway, indicating a maturing ecosystem ready to support larger investments.
Major startups in aviation manufacturing like Parsec Aerospace and Alteon Energy are in talks to raise funds, with plans to secure a few million dollars from prominent venture funds and angel investors. Meanwhile, biotech firms like Dognosis are closing sizable rounds to develop innovative health diagnostics by combining AI and olfactory sensing.
Market Dynamics and Future Outlook
The momentum reflects a broader trend observed last year when early-stage startups raised over $800 million, and so far in 2026, the figure exceeds $300 million. While late-stage funding remains limited, negotiations for billion-dollar rounds are progressing for companies developing AI infrastructure and platform solutions, with valuations reaching around $1.5 billion.
“The ecosystem is starting to see a lot of founders entering deeptech, and investors are following with better deals,” said industry expert.
India’s deeptech landscape is being influenced by global AI developments, with Indian firms expanding their presence in the US and other markets. This shift signifies an ecosystem that is beginning to explore larger capital commitments, crucial for technological scaling and global competitiveness.
