Kenyan low-cost carrier Jambojet announced plans to expand its regional network by launching new flights to Dar es Salaam and resuming services to Entebbe by early 2027. The airline has revealed it will acquire two additional De Havilland DHC-8-Q400 aircraft, scheduled for delivery by September 2026 and March 2027, respectively. The arrival of the eleventh aircraft, leased from Chorus Aviation, was made from Canada via a ferry flight stopping at multiple locations, including Goose Bay, Reykjavik Keflavik, Exeter, Malta, Aswan, and Djibouti.
This new aircraft will enable increased operational capacity by 11% and support growth in domestic routes, including to Kisumu, Mombasa, Eldoret, and Ukunda/Diani Beach. The airline's current operations are based primarily out of Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Airport, operating 11 aircraft across 8 destinations and 11 routes with 67 daily flights, as part of its strategy to expand its fleet to 20 aircraft over five years. The fleet growth aligns with the broader goal to strengthen regional connectivity and market share.
