Japan’s National Police Agency has expanded its fleet of Airbus H135 helicopters with an order for three additional units. The new helicopters will serve law enforcement agencies in Hokkaido, Shimane, and Miyagi, enhancing their operational capacity for patrol, search and rescue, and tactical missions.

This recent acquisition follows the delivery of an H135 to Hiroshima Police in late 2025, which exemplifies Airbus’s ongoing partnership with Japanese authorities. The H135’s advanced avionics suite, night vision compatibility, and robust performance continue to support law enforcement agencies worldwide, making it a preferred platform for critical operations.

Technological and Training Support

The H135 incorporates Airbus Helicopters’ Helionix avionics system, offering enhanced situational awareness and operational safety. Airbus also provides in-country training at its Kobe simulator center to ensure pilots and crew are fully prepared for demanding missions.

Overall, Japan now operates approximately 98 H135s, with the model maintaining its status as a market leader with over 1,600 units in service globally. The renewed fleet reflects Japan’s commitment to deploying modern, reliable aircraft for law enforcement and emergency services.
