Jazeera Airways has announced the selection of CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power nine additional Airbus A320neo aircraft, further solidifying its partnership with the engine manufacturer. The airline also expanded its existing engine services agreement to encompass its current and future fleet of 29 A320neo family aircraft, along with the purchase of spare engines.
Chief Executive Barathan Pasupathi stated, "We are pleased to continue our longstanding partnership with CFM International, which has been an integral part of Jazeera Airways’ growth journey over the past two decades." This decision supports Jazeera’s fleet expansion and operational efficiency as the airline enters its next phase of growth.
The agreement covers nine aircraft from the airline's existing order book of 26 A320neos. Since becoming the first Middle Eastern operator of the LEAP-1A-powered A320neo in May 2018, Jazeera operates 11 A320neo aircraft powered by LEAP-1A engines, alongside 13 older A320ceo aircraft powered by CFM56-5B engines, demonstrating a continued investment in fleet modernization and efficiency.
