Jeppesen ForeFlight has introduced a series of artificial intelligence tools designed to enhance airline operational efficiency, particularly during flight disruptions and crew scheduling. Unveiled at its annual aviation conference on October 6, 2026, these tools are part of the company's Airflow platform and are currently in development in partnership with airline operators, with an expected commercial release set for early 2027.

The core tool, Augmented Ops Control, aims to assist airline control centers by evaluating and ranking response options when flights face problems. It provides explanations for its recommendations, enabling human controllers to make informed decisions rapidly. In addition, two crew-focused tools have been announced: Trip Trading, which simplifies crew member trip exchanges to reduce unplanned absences and costs, and Target Mastery, which helps crew schedulers align schedules with specific performance goals such as cost reduction or better crew coverages. These solutions offer airlines more control and automation in managing their operations while maintaining oversight.

According to Jeppesen ForeFlight, airlines can choose the degree of automation, integrating their own rules and data with the AI tools. The company highlighted that the responsibility for decisions remains with human operators. The new tools will complement existing flight planning and navigation software offerings and will be extended to serve military and business aviation sectors in future updates.

While the airline partners involved in initial trial phases were not disclosed, the company emphasized its commitment to providing innovative solutions that optimize airline resilience and operational agility in a rapidly evolving industry.
