Jet2 has been recognized as Europe's second most fuel-efficient airline in 2025, according to an independent industry study conducted by Cirium. The airline achieved a significant reduction in carbon emissions, recording just 57.9 grams of CO₂ per available seat kilometre, a key metric for airline environmental performance. This represents a 3.1% decrease from the previous year, indicating ongoing improvements driven by operational efficiency.
The assessment utilized the EmeraldSky methodology, ensuring consistency and credibility through independent verification by PwC under ISAE 3000 standards. Looking toward the future, Jet2 plans to further enhance its efficiency as it takes delivery of 155 Airbus A321neo aircraft, which deliver over 20% better fuel efficiency compared to previous models. This development is expected to lower the airline's overall carbon footprint further as the new fleet becomes operational.
