Jetstar is set to take its sales team on a nationwide roadshow, the airline's first dedicated effort to engage with Australian travel advisors face-to-face. Scheduled across seven regions—including Hobart, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne—the events will run from early October to late October, providing an important platform for Jetstar to share recent developments and future plans.
Raymond Atchison, Jetstar’s Manager of Australian Sales and Distribution, emphasized the significance of this initiative, noting that it offers an opportunity to connect directly with trade partners, highlight recent route additions, capacity increases, and unveil upcoming plans such as commencing flights from Western Sydney International to the Gold Coast on 25 October. The roadshow also includes a prize giveaway at each location to enhance engagement.
Enhancements and Expansions
Recent highlights include the launch of the inaugural direct low-cost service between Australia and Sri Lanka, connecting Melbourne and Colombo. The airline is also expanding its Tasmania network, reintroducing Hobart-Newcastle services, boosting services to Adelaide by 40%, and extending the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) to Cairns route through October 2027. One significant change is the shift to a new cabin baggage policy, replacing weight-based systems with dimension restrictions starting 2 February 2027.
Jetstar’s ongoing capacity growth and route extension efforts aim to increase market share and improve customer options within Australia and international markets. The scheduled events will serve as a platform for the airline to educate travel advisors on these developments, fostering stronger partnerships and better service offerings.
Attending travel sellers can register online for the events, which are aimed at deepening the understanding of Jetstar’s evolving network and service features. This face-to-face engagement reflects Jetstar’s commitment to supporting its trade partners amid rapid network expansion.
