Jetstar has introduced a new non-stop route connecting Brisbane and Cebu, marking the airline’s seventh international destination from Brisbane Airport. The service, operated with Airbus A321LR aircraft, runs three times weekly until mid-May 2026, with additional flights added for the upcoming year due to high demand. This route offers Queensland travelers a direct connection to Cebu, a popular travel and tourism hub in the Philippines, known for its beaches, waterfalls, and vibrant culture.
Brisbane Airport’s CEO, Gert-Jan de Graaff, highlighted that the service enhances the city’s network to 35 international destinations. It is expected to boost tourism, trade, and community connections, particularly among the large Filipino population in Queensland. Jetstar’s CEO, Stephanie Tully, emphasized the airline’s commitment to expanding its low-cost international offerings, making Cebu an accessible holiday option for Australians seeking affordable travel options with rich cultural and natural attractions.
The launch coincides with the busy holiday season and positions Jetstar as the first low-cost airline to provide direct flights between Brisbane and Cebu, Australia’s gateway to Southeast Asia. The new route is anticipated to stimulate travel and bolster economic ties between the two regions, providing more opportunities for leisure and business trips.
